Discover the beauty of a traditional Chilean crafting technique called ‘Crin de Caballo’ which makes intricate and colourful jewellery and decorative items using fine horsehair.

Meet up with Maria Meneses  whose keen eye for design has meant a fantastic selection of these items for you to see and buy!

All her pieces are from Rari, a remote village in the Maule region, 6 hours south of Santiago. The art of Crin has been handed down through generations of women in the village over hundreds of years, but is in danger of dying out. With the help of UNESCO and people like Maria (and Jessica who joined us last year) taking the crafts around the world, this unique tradition will be kept alive and the welfare of the women in Rari supported.
